The Publisher’s Pen - Savvy Woman Newspaper
All Things Women!
If you are like me, you wear a lot of different hats: wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, entrepreneur, volunteer, and the list goes on. And, unfortunately, if you are like me, you probably don’t dedicate enough time to yourself.
In this age of multi-tasking, women, in
particular, have become experts at juggling a multitude of obligations and responsibilities.
One of the less than desirable bi-products of this juggling act is the sublimation of our own
wants and needs for those of others—our mates, our children, our pets, our employers, our
businesses, our charities, etc.
In doing for others, we sometimes lose ourselves. In their book entitled Vitamins for Your Soul, Traci Mullins and Ann Spangler say that:
"Just as our bodies need sustenance, rest, exercise and protection in order to thrive, so do our souls need refreshment and refueling, retreat and activity, attention and healing in order to be fully alive."
It's time to start lavishing the same level of attention on ourselves as we give to others.
Let today be the last day that you place your own health, feelings, concerns and general wellbeing on the back burner. We at Chicago South Suburban Newspaper are taking this advice to heart. We are devoting renewed energy and attention to serving the needs and interests of our readers.
To this end, we are making a few changes. Beginning in November, our name is changing to "The Savvy Woman". In addition to the new name, we will have a new look with expanded and more dynamic features and information.
We are excited about this opportunity to “refresh” and “refuel” our publication to better serve you. We hope that you enjoy the changes to come!
Let today be the last day that you place your own health, feelings, concerns and general wellbeing on the back burner.
